Pokémon GO Halloween 2026: Dates, Shiny Greavard & Costumes
· 3 min read
Pokémon GO is celebrating Halloween 2026 with a two-part event running from October 27 to November 5, and it brings new costumed Pokémon, a first-ever Shiny and a limited-time GO Pass. Here is everything Trainers need to know before the spooky season begins.
Pokémon GO Halloween 2026 Dates
The event is split into two parts, so plan your schedule around both:
- Part I: Tuesday, October 27 at 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, November 1 at 10:00 a.m. local time.
- Part II: Sunday, November 1 at 10:00 a.m. to Thursday, November 5 at 8:00 p.m. local time.
The Halloween 2026 GO Pass is available for the whole stretch, from October 27 through November 5.
New Costumed Pokémon in Part I
Three costumed Pokémon debut in Part I, and all of them can appear as Shiny:
- Pikachu wearing a hat and capelet
- Zubat wearing a top hat
- Sinistea wearing a bow
Costumed Pikachu and Sinistea show up in one-star raids, which makes them easy to find even if you play solo. Zubat, Duskull, Piplup and possibly Drifblim in Halloween costumes can also appear in the wild, each with a chance to be Shiny.
Trick or Treat Surprises
The headline feature of Part I is Trick or Treat. Spooky surprises left behind by mischievous Pokémon appear in the wild, and tapping them can award event encounters, Pikachu, Zubat or Sinistea Candy, or even a Rare Candy. Keep your eyes open while you walk, because these surprises are a fast way to stock up on Candy for evolving and powering up.
Field Research tasks during the event also reward encounters with the event Pokémon, so spin PokéStops and clear your daily tasks.
Part II: Shiny Greavard Arrives
When Part II begins on November 1, Trainers get their first chance to encounter Greavard as a Shiny in Pokémon GO. Shiny hunters should start saving Candy and free bag space now, as Greavard is a popular pick for Ghost-type collectors and its evolution line is worth the effort.
Halloween 2026 GO Pass Rewards
The free GO Pass is granted automatically. Collect GO Points, rank up and unlock bonuses:
- Rank 10: 2× Candy (3× Candy with the Deluxe pass)
- Rank 20: 2× Stardust (3× Stardust with the Deluxe pass)
The GO Pass Deluxe costs $7.99 USD, and an optional upgrade adds 10 ranks for $9.99. Rewards can be claimed until November 7, so you have a short grace period after the event ends.
Tips to Get the Most Out of the Event
- Plan your Shiny hunt. Costumed Pikachu, Zubat and Sinistea all have Shiny forms, so prioritize one-star raids and Trick or Treat spawns.
- Save Candy-hungry evolutions. Use the bonus Candy window at Rank 10 for Zubat and Sinistea evolutions.
- Use your Stardust bonus wisely. Hold powering up until you hit Rank 20 to get the extra Stardust.
- Mark Part II on your calendar. Shiny Greavard only appears from November 1.
Why This Event Matters
Costumed Pokémon are limited-time collectibles, and event-exclusive outfits are rarely available all year. Whether you are completing your Shiny living dex or simply enjoying seasonal Pokémon, Halloween 2026 offers plenty of reasons to open the app each day.
